Chromebook Etiquette for Ms. Frank’s Class

  1. Students will agree to use Chromebooks in a manner that only benefits their success in English I. You will do so by adhering to the following guidelines:

  • Make sure you bring a charged Chromebook to class EVERYDAY.

    • If you are unsure of your battery’s status, bring your charger.

    • If you do not have a charger, quietly and quickly ask for a peer’s charger that is not in use.

      • If you must charge your Chromebook during class, you will sit in the specified seats.

    • If you can not do any of the tasks mentioned above, you will be given an alternative assignment, and you will be required to complete and submit the original assignment by the next class session.

      • If you refuse the alternative assignment, you will be sent to ALC.

  • Pay attention to and adhere to the Chromebook positions during class.

    • CLOSED: Chromebooks should remain closed until Ms. Frank instructs you to open it. (Students should NOT be on chromebooks before the bell while waiting for class to begin. Check the board for the first task of the day.)

    • 45-DEGREE: Chromebook lids will remain at a 45-degree angle while Ms. Frank offers instructions or further assistance during individual/group work.

    • OPEN: Students are actively working on assigned lessons on Chromebooks.

  • You may have your headphones out when Ms. Frank says you may have your headphones out.

    • Otherwise, they will be put away, out of sight, completely.

      • If you cannot keep them in your notebook or pocket and out of your ear(s), you will be sent to ALC.

  • When working on your Chromebook, you will sit up straight, and the computer will rest centered on your desk.

    • I should never have to work to be able to see your computer screen.

      • If I do, I will assume you are off-task, and you will be sent to ALC.

  • You will not use your Chromebook as a text messenger.

    • Using email, Google Chat, or any other application to talk to peers during class time without my permission will result in an automatic referral to ALC.
